Logan's 2015 Ride T-Shirt to Benefit COTA for Logan Carson

In June 2012, Logan became extremely ill when the bacteria that causes Strep throat got into his bloodstream, causing septic shock. Secondary to widespread inflammation his body went into kidney failure, as well as blood clotting failure. This led to the formation of numerous blood clots throughout his extremities, his right eye, and the right side of his face. Logan spent 6 1/2 months in the hospital, during which the doctorsremoved his right eye and amputated his right leg below the knee and a portion of his right hand, including a couple fingers. Of the 6 1/2 months,4 and 1/2 were spentwith burn surgeons in San Diego, where he had weekly surgeries to remove dead tissue, and receive multiple skin grafts on his arms, legs and face. Upon leaving the hospital, Logan walked into his home wearing a prosthesis for his right foot, a patch over his missing right eye, and he endures nightly dialysis. Hopefully, Logan will receive a kidney transplant this year, allowing him to be free of dialysis, which in turn will make his bones more healthy and allow him to grow normally. Logan's family has asked for assistance from the Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA), a national charity based in Bloomington, Indiana. COTA is dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for patients in need of a transplant.
