About this campaign

We are trying to raise money to help out my nephew Liam and his family. Liam was born with Williams syndrome, a genetic defect that causes multiple health and developmental issues. As such Liam will need ongoing care, and any support will be greatly appreciated. All proceeds will go directly to Liam's family. Words cannot express how greaful we are.

Perspective.......perspective is something I've always been quick to mention during debate and discussion; if one has no perspective, one ought not opine with judgment. Relative.....I'm always saying how everything's relative; though something may seem like no big deal to us, the fact that it's significant to a certain individual person is all that matters. The best analogy that I use is that of a weightlifter; the person that struggles as they bench 135lb is exerting no less effort than the person that struggles to put up 315lb. Everything in this life is relative, and everything in this life demands perspective.

The outpouring of love and support that all of you have shown for Liam and my family has been so overwhelming, that it's changed me as a person; it's changed me as a human being. I now harbor a perspective that I'd previously not known, and only read about on occasion. I thank each and everyone of you for that; thank you for igniting the flame of human decency, of realization of true friends, and of complete stranger's becoming friends and proving that what you see day in and day out in the media is, for the most part, nothing more than propaganda meant to ensure viewership, votes, money, etc etc.

Liam has shown the strength equal to that of only the mythical Atlas, of my childhood hero Superman, and my main man The Incredible Hulk; he's less than 3 weeks old and he's already the strongest person I know. His strength comes from the Almighty, and is only fortified so because of the prayers and love shown by each of you. I can confidently say that without your prayers, love and support, I'm not sure where we'd be right now. Again.....from the bottom of our hearts and the depth of our families' souls....Thank you, and we truly LOVE you all.

Samantha and I were spending time with Liam today when we were visited by the geneticist here at Shands. She had some difficult news for us; news that will mean that Liam's fight doesn't end with open heart surgery. The geneticists discovered a quite rare genetic disorder in Liam called Williams Syndrome. Rather than go into detail, in an effort of brevity, I ask that you please Google it and read up on it. God has blessed Samantha and I, our parents, and the entire Kelley & Philyaw clans with this beautiful child, because He knows that we can handle it and provide the abundance of love and support that Liam will need through his life. We're Irish, Liam's an Irish fighter, and as Uncle Mark said about Liam; you can hit him with all you've got, but he's not going down! You've all given so much in the various forms of support, but I only ask this last thing; please keep our lil Liam, Samantha, myself, and our family in your prayers....you'll never truly know how much it means to us. Much love.
