About this campaign

Lambert Chapel needs your help. It has suffered through storms and age is tearing it down. It is an old part of an old community and we need your support. The $20.00
t-shirt sales will help costly work bring the church up to code. The outside of the church was beautified in 2013-2014, but the inside has plenty problems that we are in the process of rectifying. We are a small congregation of 15 members with the youngest member being 24 years old and the oldest who is 88 years old. We are proud of our church and truly proud of her history.

Lambert Chapel C.M.E. Church was founded by my great-great grandfather, Narcisse
Lambert who was a freed slave. He moved to the small community of Lacassine, Louisiana where he became the owner of 160 acres of land(left to his descendants and their descendants) . In 1865, he decided to build a church for the small black community of Lacassine and that little church was pulled by mules to the spot where (150 years later) is still in use today. After nearly 20 years of worshiping with another denomination, I have returned to my roots and childhood upbringing.  We are a family-oriented church who welcomes anyone and everyone to worship with us. We are few in number, but large in spirit. Not only does our little church need work, we need your support. Please spread the word!

I'm so proud to be a part of this "GREAT CHURCH. I started attending this church at a very young age with my grandparents, Lucy & Clabon Davis. They along with other family members were very involved in the growth of this church.
