About this campaign

Koti is a very special little girl with special needs.  We are raising money for any special needs she will need once she has been sprung out of the NICU.  We also are raising awareness for the special type of skeletal dysplasia she has which is Hypochondrogensis.  This is an off-shoot of the Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia which is what Mommy has!  Koti is a very loved little girl so lets all share the love!

Dakota Emory was born on July 3rd, 2014 at 2:59pm at 34 weeks exactly and at 3lbs 7oz and 12 in she made her grand debut.  We knew she was going to come early because of Mom having skeletal dysplasia herself.  We did not know that Koti was going to end up having the unique diagnosis of Hypochondrogensis or what her life would hold for her and all of us.

Koti's nickname became Koti Bear because even though shes so cute and cuddly she is very tough and will ROAR when she wants to!!

Koti has had 2 surgeries for a Trach and a GJ feeding tube already.  She got trached at around 2 1/2 months and her GJ was placed when she was almost 5 months.  She has been through numerous other procedures and tests.  This little girl has been through it all!  Due to the skeletal dysplasia she has both broncheomalacia and tracheomalacia and is 24/7 vent dependent, which means she will come home with one along with nursing care.

Having Hypochondrogensis is not easy for anyone involved but especially for Koti.  It affects all the cartiledge in the body.  There are life long problems with hearing, growing, breathing, arthritus, etc.  This diagnosis originally was not compatable with life at all but now with the help of modern medicine and advanced medical technology these kids strive and are some of the strongest kids we all have seen.

These kids have such a strong will and fight in them it makes them our superheros in a diaper!!

So come on and join Koti Bear's Krew because really how can you resist this cute face?!
