About this campaign

“You have no idea how much the support from this site has kept me afloat during the last year.” ~ A CareGiving.com member

In 1996, I founded CareGiving.com, one of the first websites to incorporate online support groups, feature the blogs of family caregivers and add a social networking community. I manage the technology, content and community and work to bring in money to keep CareGiving.com going. With your financial support, CareGiving.com can continue.

"Thank you, Denise, for making it possible for us to have this community to learn and share. You share so much wisdom with us to keep our spirits up and realize we are not alone. CareGiving.com and you are truly extraordinary." ~ Pegi, a CareGiving.com member who cares for her husband

"Your work helped my rediscover 'myself' while going through my caregiving journey with my mother. You enabled my to find this wonderful community of support when I felt alone and overwhelmed. Your patience, clear direction and compassionate words and actions must have touched so many over the last 20 years." ~ TheDogMama, a CareGiving.com member who cares for her mom

"It has been an incredible experience being here, making lifelong friends and getting help through my caregiving experience. You really have created something beautiful and special." ~ Trish, a CareGiving.com member who cares for her brother

"It is over a year that I have been coming to CareGiving. com. I remember how ecstatic I was when I found it while doing a web search. Besides the written work you and others have done of which I quickly availed myself, I found a place where I could openly share about by caregiving journey. I blogged of my experience caring for my wife over this period of time. It was so helpful to get things out and read others' comments. It has been wonderful to meet other members." ~ Bob, a CareGiving.com member who cares for his wife

According 2009 research released by National Alliance for Caregiving, 29% of the U.S. adult population, or 65.7 million people, are caregivers, including 31% of all households. These family caregivers provide an average of 20 hours of care per week. In 1996, I launched CareGiving.com to help and support those who care for family members (parents, spouses, children, grandparents, siblings).

When family caregivers create a free account on CareGiving.com, they receive:

--Access to our 24/7 chat as well as our daily scheduled chats;
--Access to our groups, including VRide (to help them get and stay fit), Three Positives (to help them find the good in the day), Beautiful (to help them find the beauty of your day) and Caregiving Happiness Project (to help them find happiness during a really tough time).
--Access to our Questions section so they can post questions as well as answer questions from other members;
--The ability to create their own group;
--An option to start a blog about their caregiving days;
--Access to our archived webinars, which teach coping strategies, communication techniques and problem-solving skills;
--Support through our WAIT Buddy program (a volunteer checks in on a member during a difficult wait in the hospital, emergency room or doctor's office) and Phone Buddy program (volunteers call each other to check and connect).

With your help, CareGiving.com can continue to be the difference in a family caregiver's life.

I have been a Family Caregiver for many years, it's nice to know there are others going through the same things I am. I don't always participate here but just knowing I have somewhere to turn means the world to me!
