About our designer: Karan Brar
Karan can be seen as starring as Ravi, one of the newly adopted children into the ultra-rich Ross family on the hit Disney channel series “Jessie.” Karan has also recently appeared on Disney's "Austin & Ally" (as Ravi) and has also voiced the character of Prince Zandar in "Sofia the First," also for Disney. Karan is also well known for his starring role as Chirag Gupta in DIARY OF A WIMPY KID (2010) DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: RODRICK RULES (2011) and DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: DOG DAYS (2012). Karan also recently voiced the character of Mason, in MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN which is slated for release in March 2014.
However, it is Karan's role on "Jessie" that is truly putting him on the map as one to watch. His character Ravi is a new immigrant to the US, and struggles to adapt to his new surroundings while still trying to hold onto his religion and Indian culture. Karan, whose family is originally from the state of Punjab, India, understands the importance of portraying the first ever series regular Indian character on The Disney Channel. He is helping the channel expand culturally, while also helping to educate viewers on the Indian culture and religions. What he loves most about being Indian and portraying an Indian character, is the ability to incorporate what he has learned from his own family, and from his visits to the country back into his role as Ravi.
When not working, Karan loves collecting comic books, hiking, and free running- he also loves to watch old movies with his dad. Some of his favorite artists are 21 Pilots, Calvin Harris, and Andy Grammar. Karan also loves to rap for fun.
About the Be Good to Each Other campaign
At CustomInk, we believe in the Golden Rule and treating others with kindness and respect. Statistics show that between 20-30% of school-aged kids in the United States have been bullied. That is why we've created the Be Good To Each Other campaign to help increase awareness and ultimately prevent bullying by uniting groups with custom t-shirts.
This is the third year of the CustomInk Be Good To Each Other campaign. With the help of our celebrity partners, the media and you, CustomInk has raised more than $20,000 for bullying prevention efforts. And the power of t-shirts goes beyond just the funds raised - thousands of people continue to wear the shirts they've purchased and spread the word that bullying is not okay!
