Jenny's Warriors

Mother. Wife. Daughter. Sister. Sister-in-law. Aunt.Cousin. Best Friend. Friend. Soccer Player. Teacher. PE Teacher. FIGHTER! .......... The empty space will be filled with the word SURVIVOR! In September of 2014 Jenny turned 40. Not an age most women are even ready for. With 40 comes so many more worries. The first being the mammogram. Fast forward to March 9th. Jenny went for her first mammogram. Little did she know this is the day her life as she knew it would change. After an ultrasound, biopsy, MRI, and many doctor visits, Jenny was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. She is in Stage 1 Aggressive. Her mass has grown since March 9th, and is now at 2.6 centimeters. Jenny will need to being chemotherapy to shrink the mass before any surgery can be performed. At this time, it has not spread to her lymph nodes. Jenny is at the beginning of her battle. She is a warrior, and will fight this every step of the way just as she does on the soccer field. She is a fierce competitor, and in her own words "does not like to lose!" At every corner, Jenny and her family receive unexpected bad news. And yet, their spirits -Jenny, Tom, Mia, and Abigail have been high. Collectively, their attitudes are remaining positive and upbeat. The Perez family is ready to fight!
