Jamison’s Story So my senior year of high school was normal until the month of February, when I started getting excessively tired, but as any typical 18 yr old, chalked it up to staying up late, working many hrs at my after school construction job, saving up for college and buying things I wanted. I could sleep 20 hrs of a 24 hr day. Long story short, mom took me in for blood work thinking it was going to be an easy mono or vitamin d deficiency. ER doctors with the help of catscan and mri confirmed on Friday, March 27, 2015 that I had a very large brain tumor in the middle of my brain. Further results show that it's a malignant germ cell tumor....yep...brain cancer, so they transferred me to Mayo Clinic in Rochester mn.


I'm starting a cancer study with a stronger than normal 18 week chemotherapy schedule with chemo every 3 weeks, followed by a possibility of surgery followed by 4 to 6 weeks of daily proton radiation in Rochester MN, but on the positive side, I get weekends off to come home to Bismarck every once in awhile.


Me and my entire #teambogey family will be fighting this and coming out stronger and better for it. And if anyone asks, yep, my mom wrote all the above paragraphs because she loves me. Realizing too that we all have so many friends, family, acquaintances, people we don't know, and God rooting #teambogey on and putting this rotten disease where it belongs....to the curb! Thanks for your support. This is my (our) journal of my bump in the road and I'm looking forward to a newly paved highway with a bright horizon and successful future when I graduate from Bismarck Century H.S. in June, 2 weeks before my 6th and last round of chemo. I may be having radiation on July 4th, but watch out for a fireworks celebration when this bump is behind me in my black Chevy Silverado rear-view mirror!
