About this campaign

IUDs are a safe, highly effective, low-maintenance form of birth control. They're an excellent option for many women, but are often cost prohibitive for the uninsured. Thanks to the Supreme Court's ruling in the Hobby Lobby case, some employers will now be able to refuse to cover this birth control method in their health plans. The crux of Hobby Lobby's argument was that IUDs are "abortifacients," meaning that they cause abortion. That's simply not true. Spread the word – IUDs are not abortifacients and women have the right to make their own healthcare decisions.

**Note: emergency contraceptives like Plan B and Ella were also at issue in the Hobby Lobby case. Those birth control methods are important, too, and aren't abortifacients either. They aren't mentioned here because this campaign is meant to spread the word about the IUD, an AWESOME but frequently misunderstood birth control option.
