About this campaign

This is His Song will join with others around the globe to recognize World Hunger Day. HOPE stands for:

Hunger Outdated Poverty Eliminated

HOPE is an initiative that was started a few years ago to raise awareness of hunger and poverty within our communities and around the world. Sometimes we support local and national charities, and at other times international. In the past we have held a HOPE Sing-n-Serve event to benefit both Gleaners Food Bank in Indiana and Feeding America, and we provided support for the holiday dinners for Hoosier Veterans in Indianapolis. For THIS campaign, we have chosen for funds to go to The Hunger Project, the sponsor of the international World Hunger Day.

Rather than hosting a specific event, we are hoping that people will embrace the very powerful HOPE theme and will want to buy a shirt to show their support. The great thing about the shirt campaign is that, with the Booster Fundraising Program, the cost over and above the shirt cost goes directly from them to the charity. And of course, the more shirts we sell, the less the shirts cost and the MORE and MORE that goes to charity.

So what is World Hunger Day? World Hunger Day is an initiative started by The Hunger project to celebrate sustainable solutions to hunger and poverty. It looks at these issues from a global standpoint, but by purchasing a HOPE shirt you can support both locally and globally.

What do we mean by that? Does your church have a food pantry? Why not purchase a HOPE shirt to support our international charity, and then also wear your shirt as you volunteer for your own local program. Are you having a family get-together? Why not suggest everyone purchase shirts, show up with a canned good or two, and donate them to a local food bank. We will have many statistics and ideas to help keep you engaged and involved in thinking about world hunger on all levels.

And of course, you don't have to host any particular activities. Simply wearing your shirt is powerful enough! Either way, we hope that you'll join us in this recognition, and whatever you do, take pictures and send them to us!
