Homeless. Not Invisible.

Often times we go day-to-day so consumed with our own lives that we overlook the needs of others, especially those who are homeless. We either avoid them-- walking past them as if they don't exist or assume their condition is a result of drugs or alcohol. This is not true. Life happens and sometimes we are faced with unfortunate circumstances that we have no control over. It is not enough to help only during the holidays. There are people struggling everyday. We have the choice to make someone's life easier. Most people are hesitant when it comes to giving money to the homeless because of fear that it will be used for drugs. We understand that, but it is no reason to ignore those who are homeless. There are other forms of giving. You can give your time, a prayer, a smile, or simple conversation. The next time you're about to walk past a homeless person, imagineyourself in the place of that individual.
