About this campaign

http://womenheart.org/When you wear your Heart Sister gear, you will feel the warmth of supporting the42 Million women in the US living with cardiovascular disease. With WomenHeart, you have a whole country (and Canada!) full of heart sisters who know how you feel, and have your back!

The Heart Sister's Heal TogetherShirt campaign started as a doodle I made of my Heart Sisters. We are all different shapes and sizes and live very different lives. The one thing that unites us is our heart disease. It doesn't care if we're black, white, brown or yellow. It just wants us to cower in fear, knowing that one in three women will die of heart disease. Well, I, for one, refuse to cower! This doodle's got the power to change lives! This simple image of the Heart Sisters reminds everyone who sees it that we are not alone in our fight against heart disease. We don't have to suffer alone! We are one big Heart FAMILY! (Yes, I've got all my sisters with me...to quote some famous sisters.)

We want everyone to be happy, so we are offeringa hoodie, a long sleeve T-shirt, and three different colors of T-shirtswith the Heart Sister artwork on it! The proceeds will go to WomenHeart, the National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, locally in Kalamazoo, andall over the country to spread the news about how to keep our hearts healthy, how to advocate for our own health, and support our Heart Sisters living with heart disease.

When I had my cardiac arrest in 2008, I knew nothing of heart disease! With 7 kids anda husband, dying was not on my "to-do" list. My life was turned completely upside down and I was a mess. I met some ladies living with heart disease in the Kalamazoo area, and we became more than friends...they were my very first Heart Sisters! I have needed them more than I'd like to admit! Carrie Hamilton, one of those angels, hooked us up with WomenHeart, and the rest, as they say, is history!

So, if you know someone living with heart disease, or if you ARE someone living with heart disease, WEAR THE T-SHIRT! Own it and wear it proudly to let the ladies who are just starting their journeys with heart disease know there is hope!
