Health by Motorbike delivers basic health education, services and equipment to women and adolescent girls living in remote areas of Kenya. Using professional health workers - and steady drivers - we reach communities that have no nearby services of their own. Last summer, I was fortunate enough to be selected by Dr. Araceli Alonso as one of 12 students to accompany her to Kenya to continue to provide these services to women in Rural Kenya. While I was there, I brought a soccer ball to the remote villages we visited each day. The women thoroughly enjoyed playing the sport of soccer with us and were beyond happy to be playing. A couple weeks after our trip had ended, Professor Alonso asked the women what they wanted to learn next. To our surprise, they emphatically requested that a women's soccer league be started between the villages.

Professor Alonso and I have decided to start this league for them and provide new jerseys for each village, as well as shorts and soccer balls. With your help, we will be able to provide all of the above and more! If $1000 is raised, we will be able to provide jerseys, shorts, and sneakers for each of the women participating in each village, along with plenty of soccer balls. The extra money we raise will be put towards maintaining the league.

In Kenya, Health by Motorbike is known as "Nikumbuke", which translates to " Remember Me". On the back of the shirts you will notice "Nikumbuke" is used as the name of the shirt along with the number "14" to represent the year the league has been initiated. The shirts are designed to represent "jersey t-shirts", as this is a fundraiser for a women's soccer league in Rural Kenya.

Asante Sana and Hakuna Matata Rafikis!!!
