Harrison's Heroes

Harrison is currently 16 months old and living with Cystic Fibrosis. We found out he carried one and/or both of our genes through the newborn screen. He was officially diagnosed with carrying both of our genes at 13 days old through a sweat chloride test. There are many genetic mutations of CF. Harrison's genetic mutation is homozygous DF508. Harrison does vest therapy twice per day for 30 minutes each to shake excess sticky mucous out of his lungs. He also takes pancreatic enzymes with applesauce before he eats anything because his pancreas does not absorb any nutrients that he takes in. Therefore, Harrison has been struggling to gain weight properly. He is just like any other little boy. He loves to read, play with trucks and trains and he absolutely loves to be outside, expecially in his wagon.  Join our team and help add tomorrows!
