Salas Family Service Trip Fundraiser

Our story... our lives have been BLESSED by adoption- however we also feel it's incredibly important for our girls to write their own narrative and going back to their birth country MUST be part of our families journey.

Back in 2005 our family was sitting outside the balcony of La Casa Grande Hotel in Guatemala City. As we sat there completely in awe of our sweet angel... a family arrived with their 10 year old daughter. We chatted for a bit and discovered she was on a heritage trip to KNOW where she was from, that conversationleft a lastingimpression.

This past year has been wonderfully challenging and an adventure of faith. We've found that sometimes- you've just got to make a decision and commit to it. That is what we are doing.

We are beyond excited to visit our youngest daughter's foster motherwhom we haven't seen in 7+ years. The love this woman carries in her heart for our daughter has been a full circle experience for our family. I truly feel that God had us foster ourselves so that we could fully connect to this woman'swounded heart when our daughtercame home to us.

We are also conducting birth parent searches for each of our daughters. Knowing their are 4 siblings still there (maybe more), we pray their birth families are open to contact in a positive way. We will also be visiting a village that needs resources (ie water, animals, etc.) We will also get to visit a village that has received support, so we can feel the difference and be a voice when we come home.

We will be building and delivering bunk beds to families in need. If your family would like to provide a bunk bed in honor of anyone, the fee is $180 per bed. Other experiences...wewill also be blessed to go to a local orphanage and play. We also hope to climb a volcano, take authentic Guatemalan cooking lessons and make our own.

Did I mention we will be going on the 10 year anniversary of bringing our oldest daughterhome and celebrating our youngest daughter's9th Birthday in Guatemala?
