About this campaign
Gemma is a precious gift from God to our family. I am honored and blessed to be her Aunt. She is such a beautiful little girl and has touched so many lives. Proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards travel for Gemma, her Mommy and Daddy to go to the Hunters Hope Krabbe Family Symposium this summer. We are also trying to raise awareness of this horrible disease that we knew not ng about until March. I have included part of Gemma's story below in the Full Story section. Please keep Gemma's Mommy, Daddy, brothers, sister and our whole family in your prayers as we treasure each day we have with our beautiful girl.
On March 11,2014 our family's life changed forever. Gemma's MRI confirmed that she had Krabbe disease. Krabbe is fatal and progresses quickly. Krabbe is a genetic disease that is passed to a child when both parents carry a recessive gene.
1 in about 100,000 children are born with Krabbe, though 1 in 125 people carry the recessive gene. The chances that 2 recessive gene parents meet/have a baby is 1 in 10,000. Daniel and I have terrible odds.
Gemma is our rainbow baby; a rainbow baby is the bright beautiful child that is born after the storm of a miscarriage. Gemma is extra special because she comes after 3 miscarriages. She completed our wildly blended family.
Gemma has 4 siblings: Charlie (Mommy's son) age 7, Gabriel (Daddy's son) age 8, a sister Crystal (Daddy's stepdaughter) age 17, and her biggest brother Patrick (Daddy's stepson) age 15. Her parents are Daniel Timothy Ward and Tina Dodd Ward.

Gemma is my nephew Charlie's little sister. You all are in my prayers and I hope she beats this.
I've seen her pics and watched her videos on FB & she is a beautufil little angel. We need to support her family like we have Noah and Sam. There is NO CURE FOR HER. Lord please be with this angel & her family. Her family needs our support!!
