Friends of the Blakely Animal Shelter

The Friends of the Blakely Animal Shelter came together in December of 2015. From January through early December of 2015, a total of 12 animals were adopted from our pound. They call it a shelter, but in reality it was death row. However, since the end of December, we have adopted out, found the owners of, or found rescue for more than 90 dogs, cats, and rabbits and the number is climbing. For someone in a metropolitan area, this may not sound like much, but for us? We are beyond excited. Our death row is well on its way to being a no kill shelter but it is 100% due to the efforts of volunteers and our community. We all work night and day to make sure no healthy animals are euthanized.
