Eli Strong

Eli was born at 37 weeks on March 4th 2015 at 4:42 PM weighing 6lbs 8oz & was 19 1/2 inches long. I never expected anything to be wrong with him, every ultrasound I ever had came back normal, so I was expecting a perfectly healthy baby boy, but to my surprise Eli was born without a nose.  My doctor told me it was a 1 in 10 billion chance of this happening.   We've had an ENT specialist examine him and from what he could tell with just his hands and eyes, Eli doesn't have nasal passages or sinus cavities. Which would mean that even with a plastic surgeon building a nose for him, it wouldn't work. They've ordered more test and scans and we are currently awaiting those results.  This was a hard blow to handle because we were almost certain that he did have them,  but we are still hopeful. He will have to have a tracheoomy & a feeding bag inserted into his stomach, which is also not what I expected. I'm not the type of person that ask for help so this is very hard for me to do but since I won't be able to go back to work when I expected and bills, (medical expenses & travel expenses) aren't going to quit coming, I don't know what else to do.  I would be so grateful for anything anyone could spare, but if you cannot afford to help with money I will be just as appreciative for prayers for my sweet Eli. He has a long road a head of him & we need all the support we can get. Thank you so much for taking time to read our story. I will be posting updates on Eli & his journey as much as possible.
