For Dogs' Sake!

K-9 Lifesavers has a mission of rescuing wonderful dogs from the highest kill shelters in the south. Our DC/MD/VA based rescue travels many miles to states like Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee each week. The journey to save these sweet souls tacks over two thousand miles on our current van each trip. The mileage and wear on our transport vans has become so extensive, we need a new vehicle to bring these wonderful dogs to our adoption events! K-9 Lifesavers, a 501c(3) Non-Profit organization, rescues dogs from low income rural areas. The cost of caring for so many great dogs is quite expensive and we can't continue to carefor these beautiful souls while also finding room in our budget for a newer van. If you've ever owned and loved a dog you know how costly, yet priceless, it can be. Our dream is to afford a reliable cargo van that will safely transport these dogs a few times a month. Ford is releasing a new transit van this Fall with a major bonus: Air Conditioning and heat all the way in the back! A/C and heat is by far the most important feature we need to be able to keep the dogs comfortable and stress free! Additionally, Ford's transit also gets better gas mileage which is a must on such a tight budget. Our goal is to raise enough funds to purchase a new van byOctober 2014, when Ford releases their model at a projected cost of approximately $30,000. It will take many months but we truly hope that together we can go the distance in working toward our goal of keeping these awesome dogs happy, healthy and ready for their bright new life ahead!
