Excelsior's Heroes

Ben Isenhoff's youngest son, James, has had a rough go of things lately. He was born with the rare condition Osteogenesis Imperfecta, also known as Brittle Bone Disease, a disease that affects only 1 in 20,000 people.

Then on October 12th, he was also diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a form of cancer that affects blood cells. To further complicate matters, on October 14th he slipped in his bath and broke his arm.

Despite all this, at only four years old, he is taking things very well. The doctors are very optimistic that chemo therapy treatments will have a high rate of success with this type of cancer and so far it seems to be working.

Ben and his wife Rachelle have been struggling with doctor appointments, hospital trips, and finding time to spend with their three other children. Much of this time often cuts into working hours and leaves very little free time.

All of us here at Excelsior Games and Comics pride ourselves on being a great gaming community. At no time is that bond of community more important than when one of our number is in need. That is why we wanted to create this special Hero T-shirt in honor of our friend and his family to help them in their time of need. All of the proceeds from this fund raising drive will be donated to Ben and his family to help offset the mounting costs of medical bills and growing needs that may arise from everyday life.
