Excelsior Comics and Games needs your help! After a fallout
with a business partner, Tiana and Bobby lost the store they had been running
for the last three years. The store became a second home for many local kids and
teenagers, and gave them a safe place to hang out and just be themselves.
Please help them reestablish this pillar in the community by purchasing this great
t-shirt. All funds raised will go directly to build-out of the new location and
legal documentation. Anything extra will go towards an initial inventory.
Tiana and Bobby took over a comic shop in Maynard MA, Three
years ago. The business had points where it was failing and on the brink of closure. In that time they moved the location from its hidden back road location.The couple took
several full time jobs on the side and poured years of love, sweat, tears,
blood, and money into the situation. Time after time it was recommended that
they walk away and cut their losses. Insted they persevered. While there Tiana was diagnosed with a
condition that made working full time virtually impossible, and became pregnant
with their first son. Somehow, after 2 years they were able to afford moving
the business onto Main Street and from there things finally began to blossom. The couple restored a long empty storefront on
the main street in town with the help of their friends and the store was up and
running again. Their son, Link, was born and had spent every day since his
birth in the store.
The couple rallied with the community to reopen
under a new name in a new location to offer the same benefits to the community.
Excelsior means "ever upward and onward". This is
how Tiana and Bobby plan to continue. Not looking back, and never giving up.
They need help though, rising out of the ashes is never an easy task. They are
looking to raise funds for legal fees, build out (paint, shelving, etc) ,
tables and chairs, and other set up costs for their new location in their same
old town.
That is where this stands. To open a new location and have
it operational, Tiana and Bobby need your help. Losing the old store left them
with nothing but an absolutely
amazing community behind them. They intend to recreate the home they had
previously for the local boys and girls by hosting FREE events almost every day
of the week, just like before. But they can't do it alone. Any tiny bit helps with this endeavor. And every dollar means the world to the launch
of Excelsior Comics and Games
