About this campaign

In December of 2014 we began a journey into the world of seizures. We honestly didn't know much about them at all except what we knew of a precious girl who we have known all her life, and who suffers from a very rare form of them. As we've walked through this last year we have learned a LOT. We have learned there are many different kinds of seizures and many different ways that they show themselves. And no one is exactly the same. We have learned the difference between having a seizure and a seizure disorder, also known as epilepsy. We have learned that no matter what kind of seizures you or someone you love may have, they are scary, frustrating, inconvenient, and unpredictable. We have also learned that while we are struggling to get used to our new normal, that there are lots of kids, just like Abby, who have them a lot worse than she does. So, when she decided that she wanted everyone in her family to wear shirts for Epilepsy Awareness Day, I started looking into how to turn that into a way to raise some money for those kids (and their mommy's and daddy's) and adults that treatments just don't work for. The ones who don't have their seizures under control. So, if you can, please buy a shirt to support Abby, wear it on March 26th (and any other day), and know that all the profits are going to an organization dedicated to researching to find the treatments that those kids and adults so desperately long for.
