#emBODYindia started as a photo campaign by a group of Indian students at Harvard committed to conveying the simple message that a woman's body is her own, and her clothes are never an invitation. Overnight, our campaign received overwhelming support from people not just in India, but from across the world. While our campaign focuses on sociocultural causes of gender violence and abuse in India, our message, the basic premise of a woman's ownership of her body, is universal. Different symptoms, global disease. We want to go beyond raising awareness and make an impact on the ground, by fundraising for an NGO in India called No Country for Women, that works with local communities to affect cultural change. ALL funds raised will be donated to women's charities in India. Every dollar counts, and your contribution will make a huge difference.
