About this campaign


Because Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) causes hypermobility in Courtney's joints, standing and walkingareverydifficult and extremely painful. This ismade more tolerablewhen she uses a walker for support or rest. While there is awalker in Courtney's home, it must be kept available for Courtney's mother's use because she suffers from multiple autoimmune conditions, as well as immune deficiencies and degenerative disc disease. Courtney needs her own walker.

As you see on the shirt, it says to 'Fight like a zebra'. This means to fight like someone who has Ehlers-danlos syndrome. Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a rare condition inwhichthe production of collagen is inhibited or interrupted. Collagen is an important contributor to the strength of skin, joints, muscles, ligaments, blood vessels and organs. Abnormal collagen causes these things to bea lot more elastic. When this occurs, walking can beverydifficult and painful; also, there is increased risk of falling.Courtney experiences a great amount of pain and has been falling regularly.Because of this, Courtney must now use a walker whenevershe will stand or walk for more than just a few minutes. Please help her to get some relief from this condition.
