From America and Canada to Norway and beyond, our members are direct descendants of Norway's Founding Fathers—the Eidsvollsmen. We are bound together by our special and unique Norwegian heritage. Members of our cultural heritage organization—children, adults and families alike—are interested in learning more about their unique Norwegian heritage and culture, while contributing to the Council's database of knowledge. Founded in 2008, the purpose of the Eidsvollsmen Council of North America, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is to establish and maintain a collection of books, periodicals, documents, reproductions and other genealogical materials relating to Norwegian-American descendants of Norway's Founding Fathers at Eidsvoll, Norway on 17 Mai 1814; to collect, preserve, research and publish materials concerning Eidsvollsmen genealogy; conduct council meetings, conferences and seminars to educate members of Eidsvoll's history of 17 Mai 1814.
