About this campaign

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-threatening genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. An estimated 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide) have CF.In people with CF, a defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that:Clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections. Obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down food and absorb vital nutrients.http://cff.org/

Lillie Anne Duncan was born September 3rd 2013. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis from the newborn screen (heel prick every baby gets before leaving the hospital.) We have been blessed with how healthy she has and continues to be. She takes 5 enzymes (help her break down her food and keep the nutrients from her food) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 3 enzymes for snacks. We also do 20 minutes of physical therapy in the morning and 20 minutes at night. Despite how healthy she has been there are others just like her who need lung transplants and more extensive treatments. Please buy a shirt and join us for the Great Strides Walk in your area.
