About this campaign
At the end of March, Donna began having unbearable neck arm arm pain. After a few visits to the ER, she was sent home with no clear diagnosis or any indication of what was to come. After returning home from a doctor's appointment on March 31st, she collapsed in the driveway while getting out of the car unable to stand or operate part of her body. After being brought to yet another
ER, the doctors found an abscess causing damage to her spinal chord
resulting in paralysis from the chest down. Donna was then rushed to
Duke Medical where she has undergone 2 emergency surgeries and is
currently in critical condition in their Intensive Care Unit.
"Trust in the God at all times, my people. Tell him all your troubles, for He is our refuge." Psalm 62 -8.
Donna's three children have this to say:
"We have been so grateful for the out-pouring of thoughts, prayers,
gestures, words of encouragement and support during this overwhelmingly
difficult time.
We have set this page up in hopes of raising funds to go
towards our mom's recovery and long term care needs. We appreciate
all of the love and support we have received so far and every tiny bit
that you can give goes a long way for us. From the bottom of all of our
hearts, thank you for anything you can do or have done to help us on
this rough journey ... We are eternally grateful for any and all acts of kindness no matter how
big or small, every little bit helps in a big way. Donna is staying
strong and fighting with the love and support of her family and people
like you who continue to support her. "
The Gaul Family faces many challenges ahead. They are prepared to face each challenge head on, but they can't do it without our love & support. They are faced with the possibility of long term hospital care and major constructional changes to the layout of their home to accommodate their Mom's needs when she is finally able to come home. If you would like to volunteer time or services to help out with the Gaul family, please send an email to us and we will forward your information to the Gaul family.
We ask for your help in supporting Donna & her family by purchasing a t-shirt and making any additional donations. This t-shirt fundraiser serves two purposes. First and foremost is family & friends can have a shirt to wear that shows their support of Donna! Secondly, it has the potential to give the Gaul family the financial support they need for Donna's recovery & long term care.
This t-shirt fundraiser needs at least 20 t-shirts to be ordered in order to be printed. Our hope is that we can exceed our goal of 50 t-shirts with flying colors! Let's show Donna & the Gaul family how much we love & support her by buying a shirt to wear.
And until Donna is able, we must dance for her while we wait for the day we can dance with her!
