About this campaign

Dogs with Legg-Calves-Perthes Disease.com is a blog that brings awareness to research, treatment methods and triumphant stories of dogs and their owners who are affected by LCPD. Help us raise funds to start a fund for owners who are unable to pay for treatment! www.dogswithlcpd.com

Hello and thanks for checking out my story. My dog, Howie, who is now 3 years old, was diagnosed with Legg-Calves-Perthes disease at 9 months old. Thought to be a hereditary disease, LCPD is a degeneration of the head on the hind femur bone which causes pain, inflammation and requires surgery.

Howie was diagnosed at only nine months old and needed major surgery to remove the “ball” part of the hip joint on his right hind leg. I was shocked, angry, and sad when I found out. My blog, Dogs with Legg-Calves-Perthes Disease, reaches out to dog owners to bring stories of hope and awareness of research and treatment methods for the disease.

Currently, the disease has little funds to help underprivileged owners pay for surgery and treatment. There is not enough information for those going through treatment with their dog. This campaign will help raises money to establish a treatment fund and support interviews with qualified veterinarians.

I will be reporting the results of the campaign as well as receipt of funding program for the LCPD in K9s. Thank you for your support! Help us spread the hope, love and triumph this disease that affects so many pups! www.dogswithlcpd.com
