ICON 2014

The iconic Audrey Hepburn is widely applauded for her roles in such movies as Roman Holiday, My Fair Lady, and Breakfast at Tiffany's (which this design pays homage to.) But in her later years, Audrey Hepburn became an international advocate for charity and service, regarded for her work in UNICEF.

In much the same way, Key Club strives to use its power in both numbers and sheer enthusiasm for service to aid others in any way they can, through various works of fundraising and the raising of awareness of such charities as the Eliminate Project, the March of Dimes, and, of course, UNICEF.

I look to Aubrey Hepburn as a role model, and I wanted to honor her memory and love for service by creating a design which highlights the joy she had performing, and the love she had for people and the concept of love in itself--much like her character Holly Golightly, my muse for this design.

I want, not just as a Lieutenant Governor, but as a young adult, to experience what service truly exemplifies--and I believe  I can do that through ICON 2014, an international Key Club convention that serves to do just that.
