About this campaign

When we take kids and families out in the field, we need supplies so everyone can learn a lot and stay comfortable. We also participate in educational events with displays and materials - and donated funds make all this possible.

We take families and kids on walks to discover the wildlife and natural places in north Texas, and we partner with many nature centers and other organizations to give talks or have an educational display. And, we publish a newsletter (Frog Calls) and a quarterly journal (The Post Oak & Prairie Journal) with articles and photos covering the prairies and woodlands of north Texas. We do all this for free, and so we rely on contributions to keep going.

'Cause I live in this area and study its ecology. There is far too little ecological research done in this dynamic, mosaic ecosystem. I believe such study will have far reaching implications in ecology and for people generally.

Our hobby is such a misunderstood one that any way that can reach new people for real understanding is a great one.
