About this campaign

This booster campaign is all about the animals--well, seven rescued kittens of varying ages, that is, that my husband and I caught or trapped over a period of a couple of weeks (because they are from different litters and are different ages, some are more socialized than others). We are in the process of getting them all seen by the vet and treated for maladies such as ear mites and ringworm. In the nearfuture, we will be getting them spayed/neutered and hope to adopt out three or four of these sweet, beautiful kitties and keep the rest.

P1190467jpg This is Punkin, one of eight kittens from multiple litters, all stuck in a cardboard box and abandoned without food or fresh water on a creek bank a few miles from our rural home. My husband Benny just happened to be taking a different route to work that morning and just happened to catch a glimpse of a kitten's head popping out of that box. That evening, we went on a kitten rescue mission. We were able to catch only three that day, but determined we'd do our best to capture the others. It took some time, traps and help, but we managed it. Sadly, one of the kittens didn't make it, but the others seem to be improving. While generous souls (God bless you!)have already helped us with funds to cover basic office visits and some of the meds, it's going to take more funds to get all these babies fixed, approx. $80 per female cat& $70 per male cat for spay/neutering, flea treatment& rabies shot.We have follow-up visits set for four of the kittensand initial visits for the last three, and these visits average $40-50 per cat. Due to a chronic and debilitating illness, I can no longer work full-time. Our budget is tight as it is and with seven new additions to a household that already had three pets--well, there's too much month at the end of the money. And it's not easy finding new homes for this many felines. I know what the odds are of them getting adopted from the shelter--not good. Many more cats and kittens are euthanized than dogs and puppies at shelters. That's just the way it is. :(We love these kitties too much to take that chance. Purchasing one of these cute Crick Bank Kittyt-shirts will not only raise awareness of the important of spaying and neutering, it will help us get all these Crick Bank Kitties fixed! It's a win-win situation.
