With your help we can fund outreach programs, cover marketing costs (printing, placing ads), and begin a much needed scholarship program. The Chicago Choro Club started in September 2015 as part of the musical offerings of the Musical Offering - Evanston's Community Music School - a 501(C)3 organization. The "CCC" offers weekly classes in Brazilian choro music - the first indigenous Brazilian style, and cousin of "samba." We also offer monthly community "rodas de choro" - jam sessions, which are free and open to the public. In this way the students can practice their tunes and participate with the community. We are the only choro school in the Chicago metropolitan area.
