Keep Calm and Play Softball

Most 14 year old girls want to spend their weekends at the movies, going to birthday parties and hanging with their friends. Chatham Crush, and many teams like us, find a group of 11 or 12girls that are willing to give up many of the social activities their peers enjoy.

For those that are not familiar with the commitment it takes from a young lady when she decides to play travel softball let me explain. Practice begins in January and theseason begins in March and ends in early December. Between those months these girlsplay2-3 weekends a monthand practice multiple times a week. Many times these girls are playing 100+ games a year with their travel team in addition to any games they play with their Middle and High School teams.

To these girls this is much more than a game. Softball is a way of life. They learn how to win and how to lose. They learn what it means to be a part of a team. They celebrate individual successes and hurt for a teammate that is struggling. They learn how to take a bad call and appreciate when the bad call goes their way. These girls are gaininglife skills that they will be able to tap into long after they hang up their cleats and put away their gloves.

We arerunning this campaign as a fundraiser for our team. Although each player pays annual dues we must fundraise to supplement the cost of playing at this level so we can keep cost as low as possible for these families. We are hoping to sell 50shirts and genuinely appreciate your support.
