About this campaign

We are raising funds to help support treatment and education for Jessie Davin who was diagnosed with Leukemia in February of 2014. Find out more information about her journey on our Care Page or make a direct donation here. Thank you for your support!

Jessie was diagnosed with Childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (also called ALL or acute lymphocytic leukemia) at the end of February 2014. It is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow and it requires very fast and intense treatment to cure. There was no downtime or preparation for treatment, it started 7 days after she was diagnosed and will continue for 2+ years. She is currently on her second wave of treatment with requires: weekly check-ups at the hospital for spinal tap and lumbar puncture to check her blood, medications twice a day, daily chemotherapy, a number of other medications to help ease the discomfort of the chemo drugs, etc. As you can imagine, even with health insurance, the costs of treatment can add up considerably. We are selling t-shirts and holding a benefit to help the family offset some of these costs and worry about getting their daughter healthy and not carry so much financial stress.

Jessie is 16 and a sophomore at Turpin High School. She has not been able to attend school since her diagnosis in February. She will not be able to return for the remainder of sophomore year and probably will not be able to attend a good portion of her junior year. To keep her on track with graduation she has to do much of the school work on her own with the help of a tutor. As some of you may know, Jessie has ADD and doing school work on her own is very hard for her! Much of the funds we raise will also go directly to her education, making sure she is able to keep up with her studies and stay on track with other students her age.

Jessie has been so strong through this whole process. If you want to read the full story with updates please visit the care page we have set up. And PLEASE consider stopping by the benefit for Jessie the weekend of June 20th - 21st. More information can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/721363681236519

Thank you so much for your interest in helping Jessie and the Davin Family. If you cannot contribute financially, that is totally okay. Send them prayers and well wishes. Send an email or make a quick phone call just to say hi. Stuff like that is just as, if not even more important. 10152639433953082jpg
