100% of all proceeds will go to the YMCA Annual Fundraising Campaign! Not only do you get an awesome shirt, but you get to help deserving kids go to one of the premier camps in the area, YMCA Camp Cherokee!
Since 1945, YMCA Camp Cherokee has been molding kids
in the great outdoors while instilling values such as Honesty, Caring,
Responsibility, and Respect! 100% of theproceeds will go to give these kids a week
that will change their lives!
I love YMCA Camp Cherokee! I was given the opportunity at the age of 6 to begin my adventures with Cherokee. My mother, Ann, was invited to attend camp when she was 14 years of age with her lifelong friend Whitney. Funny would she know that 25 years later she would send her own twin boys to the same camp that she once attended.
I began going to camp with a small group of friends. My brother David, William, Whitney’s son, and Will (aka Happy) began at an early age of 6. We never looked back! Along the way many other friends would join our crew (Ben, Bax, Charles, John, and Townsend to name a few). And boy did those summers and weeks fly by! Too fast! Every time a session would come to a close, the countdown for the next year would begin.
Camp Cherokee has meant a lot of things for me over the years. Fun. Safe. Free. Magical. It has taught me a lot as well. How to treat others. How to treat myself. How to be a better person.
And being on staff just magnified these qualities. Being a counselor gave me the direct opportunity to give back to the camp that means so much to me. The years have run together, but all of my fond memories are still intact.
That is why this fundraising campaign is important to me. This fundraiser will directly give worthy kids the chance to escape the normal confines of life to experience an unforgettable week in Kings Mountain State Park.

Celebrating my daughters's first year at at Camp Cheerokee in Summer 2015.
Camp Cherokee is a special part of Kings Mountain State Park to me! It's awesome to see all the children having a blast during the summer. Every child should have the opportunity to participate in the Camp Cherokee experience!
