About this campaign
I am raising money for the American Lung Association. I am doing a walk on May 14th, the American Lung Association Lung Force Walk. I am doing this because I lost someone very close to me due to asthma. I want to raise money to help find ways to help people with not only asthma, but also other lung conditions.
On December 23, 2014, I got a phone call that changed my life. And not for the better. My boyfriend, Joshua, of six years was being rushed to the hospital. He had an asthma attack and passed out. He wasn't breathing. My world turned upside down in a matter of minutes. Joshua was transferred from the local hospital to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He was placed in the ICU. They did multiple tests and monitored him closely. On Christmas day we found out that he had little to no brain activity, he more than likely would not wake up. On December 26, 2014 at almost 5 AM, I lost my best friend. His mother and father lost a son, his brother lost his best friend, his sister in law lost someone who had been a brother to her. Our worlds were destroyed.
Joshua suffered from asthma his whole life. We knew that asthma could be fatal, but we never thou t it w uld be fatal to him. But it was.
Now I am trying to raise money to support the American Lung Association in Joshua's honor.
