About this campaign

Beekeepers in Marin County, California and Planetwork need your help to put some of best bee minds in the country (and beyond) together!

Audacious Visions for the Future of Bees and Beekeeping

A collaborative working conference with some of the world’s leading bee experts to envision bold evidence-based ideas through which honeybees, wild bees, beekeepers and pollination managers ca prosper.

https://www.beeaudacious.com/

Background:
These are not conventional times for bees, and the conventional wisdom about how to keep honeybees and manage wild pollinators no longer seres beekeepers, farmers or the critical societal imperative for environmental sustainability. Now is the time for bold new ideas that recognize beekeepers as stewards of both managed and wild bees, promoters of healthy environments, managers of economically sustainable apiaries and paragons of collaboration and cooperation.

I’s time for some Audacious thinking about the future of bees and beekeeping.

With an agenda developed by particiants indvance ten leers wil facilate aproximaty 90 prticipas in ative diogues o devel bold, feasibl evidece-basesolutins forhe fuure heah of bes and e proserity ofthose wh manage them.

The December 2016 conference will be immediately followed by a panel discussion on December 14th that will be live streamed and available for viewing at www.beeaudacious.com. Dr. Mark Winston will write the Proceedings for future posting to the website.

Leaders include:

· Dr. Thomas Seeley, Professor of Biology, Cornell University

· Dr. Marla Spivak, Macarthur Fellow, Distinguished McKnight Professor, University of Minnesota

· Dr. Mark Winston, Professor and Senior Fellow, Simon Fraser University Centre for Dialogue

· Dr. Jim Frazier, Professor Emeritus of Entomology, Penn State University

· William Klett, Commercial Beekeeper

· Dr. Stephen Martin, Professor, School of Environment and Life Sciences, University of Salford

· Dr. Heather Mattila, Associate Professor of Biological Sciences, Wellesley College

· Chaz Mraz, Champlain Valley Apiaries

· Dr. Francis Ratniek, Professor of Apiculture, University of Sussex

· Dr. Neal Williams, Professor of Pollination Ecology, University of California, Davis

These people were into bees, pollinators and environmental sustainability long before it was popular. Help us put them in a room together! We can all benefit from the ideas their collective centuries of experience can generate. … and so can our bees!

Make a difference….BEE AUDACIOUS!
