Balticon 50 Is Coming

2016 is a very special year for Balticon. It is our 50th year of bringing science fiction and fantasy professionals and fandom together. Returning to our origins in Baltimore City, we have moved to the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel. We will offer a dedicated Dance Hall for dance events, career development intensive seminars for SF/F professionals, free autograph signings (as always), and our usual fantastic programming. We will expand our film festival and filmmaking program.

In addition to Guest of Honor George R. R. Martin, Artist Guest of Honor John Picacio and Music Guests of Honor Bill and Gretchen Roper, and Compton Crook GoH Alexandra Duncan, the following Balticon guest of honor Alumni have accepted our invitation to be our Very Special Guests and help us celebrate our Golden Anniversary: Ben Bova, Steve Barnes and Tananarive Due, Phil and Kaja Foglio, Sheila Finch, Michael Flynn, Joe Haldeman, Donald Kingsbury, Sharon Lee and Steve Miller, R. A. MacAvoy, Larry Niven, Jody Lynn Nye, Nancy Springer, Allen Steele, Charles Stross, Harry Turtledove, John Varley, Jo Walton, Connie Willis and Gene Wolf. This list of SF/F stars includes no less than FOUR Grand Masters!

We are excited and terrified! All of this is going to cost a bundle! To get us started raising the money for this massive undertaking, we offer this unique T-Shirt. The art on the front is our Balticon 50 logo, designed by our own Artist Alley manager and long-time Balticon Art Show exhibitor Tristan Alexander. On the back of the shirt is the list of all of the Balticon Guests of Honor through the years. THIS SHIRT IS ONLY AVAILABLE THROUGH THIS FUND RAISER. It will not be sold at the convention and will not be available after the convention.
