Oakland's 4th Annual Bacon Tuesday

Bacon Tuesday spawned from a love of bacon and a unique relationship formed with Jeff "Frenchy" Francoeur, former outfielder of theKansas City Royals, and the ever fAithful fans in the Oakland Right Field Bleachers (Sec.149). The story goes like this...as the faithful fans were doing their typical jarring of the beloved opponent, one of the fans (probably Charlie)simply asked Jeff if he liked bacon, "Frenchy! Do you like bacon?", Charlie asked. Jeff being awesome replied with a excited "YES!" The guys & gals of the bleachers decided to then declare that the following eveningwould be the inaugural Bacon Tuesday. With their simple and delight bowls of bacon treats, the Bleacher faithful shared their bacon bounty amongst them selves as they celebrated baseball & bacon! They even went down to meet Frenchy after the game to exchange a bacon offering and greetings. The next day Jeff thanked the crew for a great night by tossing up a baseball wrapped with a $100 bill that simply said, "For beer & bacon dogs. Bacon Day- (signed Jeff Francoeur)" The ball sits in a case till this very day, reminding us of a simple night in the bleachers with friends and bacon.
