American Dog Owners for Proper Training, or A.D.O.P.T. as we call ourselves, is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded to help increase the adoption rates of shelter dogs and lower euthanasia rates as well as the number of owner surrenders through proper training, behavior modification, and education. We provide assistance to shelters and rescues in the form of behavioral and training evaluations and training services; rescue, train, and place dogs through our own organization; and we provide training scholarships that help keep dogs in permanent homes by teaching their owners how to overcome the behavioral issues they are experiencing.
We are a small grass-roots organization that helps in big ways, and the requests for help we are receiving are growing tremendously! The dogs we work with come to us with severe behavioral issues that other trainers and organizations either refuse to work with or do not have the resources to handle. We survive on the generous support and donations of people like you who believe in our cause! We at A.D.O.P.T. believe that with the right people and the right attitude ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!! . . . and we are proving that one dog at a time!
