About this campaign

Julianna was born 11/04/13 at 38 weeks gestation. The only thing that was noted was her condition called polydactyly, meaning she has 6 fingers on each hand. Julianna's do not have a joint connection so they are nonfunctional and will need to be surgically removed. This surgery will be 3/31/2014. On 11/05/13 we had our last set of vitals done so we could head home and the doctor heard a murmur, a sound your heart makes if pressure bounces of something out of place inside the heart. Her doctor thought it was the PDA which would be a normal newborn murmur and assured me it would likely be gone first thing in the morning. We followed up in the clinic and the doctor sadly informed me that it was worse and she needed to be evaluated by cardiology ASAP for a possible VSD.

We followed up in the clinic and the doctor sadly informed me that it was worse and she needed to be evaluated by cardiology ASAP for a possible VSD. The next day at 3 days old she had her first echo done and they discovered she has multiple heart defects. At 6 weeks Julianna's heart began to fail and she had an 80% blockage in her heart. A week later 12/26/2013 at 7 weeks old she had her first cardiac procedure done called balloon dilation Angioplasty and razor balloon dilation angioplasty. This improved her blockage but she then went into further heart failure. At this point she was started on lasix. She again has a blockage in her heart due to her having Hypoplasic branch pulmonary arteries but she isn't eligible for repairs at this time because it's to risky. She will have a full repair with open heart surgery once she is bigger and stronger.

This little beauty has a special place in my heart! She is always smiling at me, every single day. Her mom is so strong, loving and smart! She is struggling with the very thing I feared would happen to my daughter's VSD. We love miss Anna banana!

I've followed Julianna's story very closely as my daughter has similar heart defects, no where near the severity but still if they worsen would be following in Julianna's shoes. This little girl has touched my heart and I only hope someone will help.

I have been following Julianna for a while now. She has become part of my daily life. Love seeing her pics and reading her story. If there is any way possible to help make her better it would be with awareness.
