About this campaign

Angels of Animals believes that every life matters - from the disabled, injured, and abused animals that are our core mission, to community cats in need of TNR (trap, neuter, return), to healthy cats and kittens in need of loving homes, we are there to provide love, medical care, rehabilitation, and adoption services.

Angels of Animals is a non-profit organization established in 2005. We are a humane rescue group that reaches out to animals in need.  EVERY animal deserves love & compassion. EVERY animal should have an angel to protect them from harm. For the unlucky ones who are abandoned, hurt, abused or homeless……. Angels of Animals was born.

Our mission is to provide a better life for animals in need. Our goals are to provide a volunteer rescue & adoption service for stray, abandoned, and unwanted animals, and to provide medical treatment for those that have been hurt or neglected. We are proud to offer medical treatment to strays that require extensive care & have no options except euthanasia.

Buying a tee shirt means supporting local animal rescue efforts! We work throughout New Jersey and New York. Our animals are cared for in loving foster homes, and treated as members of our families. We go above and beyond to help, because we truly believe that EVERY LIFE MATTERS.

Thanks for your support!

Theodore was rescued from a high kill shelter - he was on death row for being "feral". We knew otherwise. Theo is an elderly, declawed male. After six weeks of medical testing and therapy, our doctors determined that Theodore has cancer. We are committed to making the rest of his days happy and pain free. theojpg
CuteCumber came to us from the Cumberland County SPCA as a six week old kitten. She had six broken ribs and an antibiotic resistant upper respiratory infection. We nursed this beautiful girl back to health, and she found her forever home! We make a substantial financial commitment to each special needs cat we rescue. Your purchase helps us pay their veterinary expenses, and allows us to rescue the next animal in need! cutecumberjpg
Augustus came to Angels of Animals with a life threatening infection that most kittens do not survive. With the love and care of Dr. Scriffignano and the staff of Verona and Montclair Animal Hospitals, and the fierce and unwavering dedication of his foster moms, Erika and Willow, Augustus beat the odds and is happy and healthy. His foster family has decided to make him a permanent member of their crew. We love Augustus, and are proud to have taken part in the lifesaving care that he needed. willow and dr scriffjpg
TNR - trap, neuter, return - is essential to help prevent overpopulation. We are proud that our volunteers support TNR in their communities. Angels of Animals currently has many kittens available for adoption - Please consider adding a new member to your family!

Patrick is one of our most adorable adoptables. Dumped on the streets of Paterson, and taken in by AoA, he has been waiting a long time for his forever home. This sweet, playful 10 month old is tired of coming to adoptions each week, only to be overlooked because he is no longer a baby. He is still a kitten, and has so much love to give. He is great with kids, adults, dogs, other cats, and pretty much whatever else comes his way. In a word, he is perfect! Please consider Patrick if you are looking for a loving companion. He is neutered, vaccinated, litter trained, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. He is the whole package!Patrickjpg
Lilo and Stitch are a perfect example of why we do community education at our adopon events. After their family had a baby, Lilo and Stitch were stressed out, and began to display some behavioral issues. Instead of consulting with a veterinarian, their family ignored the behavior, and the situation soon spiraled into a year of neglect and inappropriate care. Then their family called a local shelter and arranged to have these healthy, beautiful girls "euthanized". That is when AoA volunteer Michelle stepped in. We had Lilo and Stitch evaluated by Dr. Scriffignano, who found nothing wrong beyond a few extra pounds, and placed them in a quiet, loving foster home, where they are thriving, and soon to be adopted. There are very few behavioral problems that are not caused either by human error or an underlying medical problem. We prevent these types of situations by providing ongoing advice to our adopters to ensure loving, permanent adoption placement, and recommending regular veterinary care.Lilo and StitchJPG
We are told that this cat, who was dumped at a feral colony in Garfield 9 years ago, once wore a collar that said his name was "Lucky". Amy and Chris were trapping cats for TNR when this poor boy walked up to Amy, bloody and beaten, and leaned against her, knowing he was safe at last. He is FIV+ and needs a loving home. FIV is not a death sentence, and positive cats can live in mixed populations. Many of our volunteers have adopted FIV+ cats throughout the years, and we will be featuring their stories to raise awareness about adopting FIV+ cats.  Lucky is currently at our vet's office receiving supportive care. He deserves to spend the rest of his life in a loving adoptive home. Please consider adding Lucky to your family. Our adoption application is ready to be filled out at www.angelsofanimals.org. Opt to adopt an FIV+ cat! luckyjpg
CeCe has been returned to us after 5 years due to her unhappiness in her home. After the family’s new baby arrived 2 years ago, CeCe started hiding especially when the baby became mobile.  Then she began escaping from the house.  After the third time, the family sadly agreed with us that she might be better off in another home with no small children for her own safety and happiness.  She does get along with other cats (she lived with 2), but has not been exposed to dogs.  She has been in a foster home for 6 weeks now and is very anxious to find a new home.cecejpg
...and then sometimes, we rescue squirrels! These guys were rescued by AoA president Amy, who got them fed, bathed, and stable while arranging to place them in a wildlife rehab. Good luck to Max and Annie - Amy will be following up as they recover, and stopping to visit with them. Every life matters. Every single one.squirrels to rehabjpg
We say "yes" even when municipal shelters and animal control say "no". We do not receive municipal funding. This poor girl was on the streets, and AoA was the only organization willing to go in and help. Her brother was admitted for emergency care. her siblings are still out there. We do all we can, but we need support - donations and foster care.kitten 2014 sickjpg
This poor cat was shot with a BB gun. Angels of Animals is always there to help victims of abuse and careless cruelty. She is now in good hands at Verona Animal Hospital. bb gun catjpg
