About this campaign
We lived, or are currently living, along Spain Creek and the environs which make up North Lewisburg, Mingo, Cable and Woodstock in northeastern Champaign County, Ohio. We want to help protect and preserve the photographs, letters, manuscripts, books, artifacts, and buildings which are such a vital part of our history. The funds we raise from this t-shirt project, as well as other upcoming fund-raising events, will be used solely for the purpose of preserving our heritage! We want to protect the past so we can preserve it for our children and grandchildren!
The Along Spain Creek Preservation Group has grown out of our common heritage as people who grew up in the area, or who have chosen to make it our home. Many historical items and buildings with which we associate have been lost because no one took the effort to preserve them. We are committed to change...to make every effort to keep those precious objects and buildings on display or accessible so we and the members of our extended families and the community at large can enjoy them. There is work to be done! This initial fund-raising project will provide us with the basic funds to file documentation as a non-profit organization so we can continue to grow, to help find and preserve documents, books, photographs, and objects which still exist, and to create venues to display them for the benefit of all of the people in our community.
