About this campaign

Connor's family was granted a newly diagnosed can't scholarship from FSMA to attend the annual SMA conference, because it is in DC this year, the Smith's are going! This fundraiser is to help cover costs of travel and hotel and the rest of the money will be donated To FSMA!

Connor was diagnosed with the number one genetic kler of infants, Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1 at the age of 3.5 months old. Connor was not expected to survive passed 6 months of age.

Connor is now 18 months old and is still fighting! He is beating the odds every day! 90% of children with his diagnosis do not survive passed the age of 2 years old.

There is no cure or treatment for SMA, and that is where we need YOUR help! Help us make 2014 the Year of the Cure!

Connor and his family were granted a newly diagnosed scholarship from Families of SMA to attend their very first SMA conference. They are so excited to be able to meet other families, and can't wait for Connor to meet tons of strong little kids just like him! The scholarship covers the registration fees for the conference but the family still needs to drive from Michigan to Washington D.C. with Connor and all of his equipment. They will also need to stay for several days. Everything helps, the Smith's are so happy they have been granted this opportunity, but still have many financial obligations with a child in Connor's condition.

This fundraiser is to help the Smith's get to the FSMA conference, the rest of the monies raised will be donated to funding SMA research at the FSMA conference in June.
