The recent USDA proposals to changing the regulations in the Horse Protection Act could severely impact the trotting breeds that have no history of soring. We have to let the USDA know their vague language and undefinable terms could unfairly apply to us.

About this campaign

Representatives from trotting breeds (American Saddlebreds, Hackneys, Morgans, Arabians) and the United Professional Horsemen's Association have been working together to ensure our breeds are not unfairly lumped into these regulations, which were intended to end soring in breeds with a history of the practice. Please go Regulations.gov and search "Horse Protection Act" and click on the comment box next to the heading "Horse Protection; Licensing of Designated Qualified Persons and other Amendments" and leave a comment. The comment period ends October 26, 2016. For additional information and talking points for your comments please go to: www.ASHA.net/horseprotection.
