6 Points Sports Academy Tikkun Olam Project 2016

Every year, 6 Points Sports Academy has a charity 5k walk/run during each of our three summer sessions to raise awareness and funds for food security in the local Greensboro community. This summer we are excited to announce that we will be helping raise funds for Best Buddies in California, an organization helping end the isolation of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. By purchasing a t-shirt you are joining us in the local fights for social justice and supporting the communities we are proud to call home! We hope our entire camp community - parents, campers, faculty, staff, coaches and leadership - will have a shirt to wear the day of the 5K; as well as share this site with their friends and family to spread the word.

Continuing our support from last year we are working with Out of the Garden Project. The charity began wen Krist and Don Milholin’s children attended Moorehead Elementary School,where they noticed several children who were food insecure. Kristy an Don felt called to help make a difference in these children’s lives, and so in August 2009, they started the Out of the Garden Project in their home around the kitchen table. Out of the Garden Project provides mobile food pantries to food deserts within Guilford County each month and will distribute more than ½ million pounds of food this year toungry school children and their families.

This year we are also supportinghe California branch of Best Buddies.est Buddies is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disailities.
