Team Shaylah

Shaylah is truly a miracle baby. She was born with Down Syndrome. She is 23 months old and she has spent 16 of those months in and out of the hospital. She is a very complex little girl with complex medical issues. Apart from the downs she has a atrioventricular septal defect with left ventricular diastolic dysfunction..., pulmonary hypertension lung disease, chronic lung disease, respiratory insufficiency s/p tracheotomy, G tube for feeding, syndactyly, fluid retention, arterial occlusion due to thromboembolism, chronic anemia, hypothyroidism. fluid behind right ear and problems with her right eye. She has had two open heart surgeries, a G tube surgery, a GJ tube surgery and a tracheotomy. She is the strongest little girl I know. I am so proud of her and cannot tell you how proud I am to be her nurse. I am doing a this fundraiser for her and her mother Melissa, she is a single mother and you cannot imagine the struggle she goes through. So please help out Melissa and Baby Shaylah.
