Team Anya

Anya Jade was born in September of 2012.  The first time we held Anya she was everything we could have ever asked for.  It wasn't until the very next day we knew something was wrong.  When Anya was a month old, she was diagnosed with Williams Syndrome.  Williams Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that occurs when 23-28 genes are deleted from the 7th chromosome.  It involved cardiovascular complications, renal abnormalities, low muscle tone, hypercalcemia, and developmental delays (in a nutshell).  Anya is the best thing to have happened to our family.  She brings so much joy and happiness to our lives, and to the lives of everyone that meets her.  We want to spread awareness of Williams Syndrome so that more research is done and more answers are available to the WS families.  You can learn more about Williams Syndrome, and follow our families journey, on my Instagram page @adventureswithanya
