Team Courtney T-Shirt Fundraiser

September 15, 2008; a day forever etched in our minds. Our Courtney Lynne turned 19 years old that day, and instead of celebrating her birthday, we were saying our final goodbyes. My 19 year old sister passed away from cardiac arrest after fighting to stay alive for 10 days. That day our lives were forever changed. Our family will always be missing a piece. We will never hear her laugh, see her smile or hear her tell another one of her never‐ending stories that have absolutely no meaning again. The void she left behind will never be completely filled and our family will never be the same. Courtney touched many lives during her short stint on earth, but it is the lives she affected after she left that we are celebrating. Our family chose to donate her organs to those who were in need, as Courtney would have wanted us to do. We are happy and proud to announce that her organs saved seven lives. Seven pieces of Courtney are living on and keeping her name alive. Our family was not spared of the daily heartbreak of not having her here, but knowing that she prevented other families from feeling this pain is what gets us through the day.
