About this campaign
Help us raise money to keep Alena's health insurance active, so she can remain on the transplant list, and to assist with her mounting medical costs.
Shirts will be delivered approximately 2 weeks after the close date.
For fourteen years, Alena has dealt with auto-immune hepatitis followed by primary-sclerosing-cholangitis, esophageal varices, portal vein hypertension and cirrhosis of the liver. In 2012, her liver just couldn't put up the fight any more, and in January of 2013 she was placed on the transplant list.
This amazing young woman, who was on the verge of graduating from the University of Michigan-Flint, who was working as a graphic designer locally, and who became a fiancé, has put her life on hold as she waits for her call. This has taken a toll on her financially.
With mounting medical bills as she travels to and from Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, she is now faced with her upcoming premium for her health insurance, and without it, she will lose her place on the transplant list.
